Joining the academy
Can we try a class before enrolling?
क्या पहले एक क्लास देख सकते हैं?
Yes. We offer a free trial class for every batch. Message us on WhatsApp or fill in the enquiry form with your child’s age and the form you are interested in, and we will suggest a batch and a day to come in.
What is the minimum age to join?
न्यूनतम आयु क्या है?
Most children start with us between the ages of five and seven, though the right starting age depends on the form. Folk and Garba batches take younger children comfortably; Kathak and acrobatics ask for a little more attention span and physical readiness. There is no upper age limit, and we run adult beginner batches on weekends.
I have never danced before. Is that a problem?

No. Most of our batches take complete beginners, and Kathak has beginner batches for both children and adults. You are not expected to arrive with any background.
Classes and training
Can I change my batch later?

Yes, subject to space in the batch you want to move to. Students often move up a level mid-year, and we would rather move someone than have them stay in a batch that is too easy or too fast.
What should we wear to class?
क्लास में क्या पहनें?
Anything comfortable you can move and stretch in for the first few classes. Once a student settles into a form we will tell you what is needed. For Kathak that eventually means a practice salwar or churidar, and ghungroo, which we introduce only when the student is ready for them.
When do Kathak students start wearing ghungroo?

When the ankles are ready, not on a fixed timetable. Students spend their early months on posture and tatkar without ghungroo. Putting them on too early builds bad habits and risks injury, so we take that decision student by student.
Do you offer online classes?

Yes, both. You can learn at our studio in Morabadi, Ranchi, or live online from wherever you are, in India or abroad. Online classes are live and interactive, and run in the evening, India time, one-to-one or in a small batch. The online page has the details.
I live outside India. Can I still learn from you?

Yes. Students join our live online classes from other cities and other countries. Classes run in the evening, India time, either one-to-one or in a small batch. Tell us where you are when you enquire and we will tell you whether our 6:00 to 8:00 PM India window works on your clock and suggest the nearest option.
Can students take dance examinations?
क्या परीक्षा दे सकते हैं?
Yes. The academy is affiliated with Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, and offers an examination facility from Beginner up to M.A. in Dance. A degree exam batch runs online too, for students who are not in Ranchi.

What are the fees?
फ़ीस कितनी है?
Fees depend on the form, the batch and how many days a week you attend. Please send an enquiry or message us on WhatsApp and we will share the current fee structure for the batch you are interested in.

Do students get to perform?
क्या छात्र मंच पर प्रस्तुति देते हैं?
Yes. The academy holds an annual showcase and takes part in festival and community performances through the year, including Navratri. Performing is encouraged but never compulsory.
Where exactly is the academy?
