Joining the academy
Can we try a class before enrolling?
क्या पहले एक क्लास देख सकते हैं?
Yes. We offer a free trial class for every batch. Message us on WhatsApp or fill in the enquiry form with your child’s age and the form you are interested in, and we will suggest a batch and a day to come in.
What is the minimum age to join?
न्यूनतम आयु क्या है?
Most children start with us between the ages of five and seven, though the right starting age depends on the form. Folk and Garba batches take younger children comfortably; Kathak and acrobatics ask for a little more attention span and physical readiness. There is no upper age limit — we run adult beginner batches on weekends.
I have never danced before. Is that a problem?

No. Every form we teach has a beginner batch, and our adult weekend batches are made up almost entirely of people starting from zero. You are not expected to arrive with any background.
Classes and training
Can I change my batch later?

Yes, subject to space in the batch you want to move to. Students often move up a level mid-year, and we would rather move someone than have them stay in a batch that is too easy or too fast.
What should we wear to class?
क्लास में क्या पहनें?
Anything comfortable you can move and stretch in for the first few classes. Once a student settles into a form we will tell you what is needed — for Kathak that eventually means a practice salwar or churidar, and ghungroo, which we introduce only when the student is ready for them.
When do Kathak students start wearing ghungroo?
घुंघरू कब पहनते हैं?
When the ankles are ready, not on a fixed timetable. Students spend their early months on posture and tatkar without ghungroo. Putting them on too early builds bad habits and risks injury, so we take that decision student by student.
Do you offer online classes?

Our classes are offline, at the Morabadi studio. Dance is corrected by eye and by touch, and we have not found a way to do that properly over a screen.
Fees
What are the fees?
फ़ीस कितनी है?
Fees depend on the form, the batch and how many days a week you attend. Please send an enquiry or message us on WhatsApp and we will share the current fee structure for the batch you are interested in.
General
Do students get to perform?
क्या छात्र मंच पर प्रस्तुति देते हैं?
Yes. The academy holds an annual showcase and takes part in festival and community performances through the year, including Navratri. Performing is encouraged but never compulsory.
Where exactly is the academy?
